This time, you won’t just sit back and watch the main character solve the clues—you’ll dive into crime scene reports, call witnesses, and examine the trophies collected by the murderer yourself.
More Than Just an Escape Room
Our game’s setting couldn’t be more authentic – it takes place in the old hospital. The eerie atmosphere and live actors playing alongside you have made nearly every group scream. We’ve also uniquely combined our escape rooms with the chance to jump down with ropes from the hospital’s balcony.
The Story of the Game
When one victim was found poisoned on the cold tile floor of a swimming hall, and another had been shoved alive into a bakery’s freezer, you immediately realized that these unusual murders must somehow be connected. The police - except for one detective - refuse to believe a serial killer could be behind the cases. That means it’s up to you and your team to uncover the link and catch the murderer.
The newest member of your murder mystery club, psychologist Usva Varjo, has a theory about the killer. She was supposed to present it to your group and the lead investigator - but Usva has disappeared. All that’s found is her phone, dropped outside her apartment door. Your worst fears start coming true.
Can you uncover the killer’s location and save Usva in time - before she becomes the next victim in the serial killer’s bloody game?
Game Board
You can choose between two versions of our game:
Classic
Spend one hour solving murders in the the abandoned hospital’s creepy corridors and a frightening operating room. Live actors will be part of your game - some on your side, others not. The game takes place in Helsinki, in the old Meilahti hospital at Tukholmankatu 10. This captivating escape room costs 40 € per player (+10 € per player for the rope escape).
Premium
Your investigation begins at a pub table and leads you through the dark maze of the old hospital and into a haunting operating room. During this two-hour experience, actors bring the story to life - and you can end your adventure by escaping from the hospital’s balcony by rope. The game is held in Helsinki and starts in Kamppi at Helsinki center, at Salomonkatu 1.
Number of Players
If you and your group are passionate escape room fans, the ideal team size is 4-6 players. However, if you're celebrating something and just want to enjoy a fun evening together, you're welcome to join with as large a group as you like. In the Trapped by the Beast is also available in a two or three team version for groups of more than 12 people.
Pricing and Payment Methods
- Classic: 40 €/player
- Classic + ropes escape: 50 €/player
- Premium: 60 €/player
Both versions include live actors and take place in the old hospital. The Premium version lasts two hours, includes movement through the city, and ends with a rope escape.
You can pay in beforehand via our booking system or on-site using a credit/bank card or MobilePay.
Content Warning
We are not traditional escape room. Our games are a unique mix of immersive theater, adventure, and puzzles. That’s why they’re best suited for players who are ready to dive into something deeper than just locks and number codes.
The game includes material involving harm to victims, so we recommend it for ages 16 and up.
To make Escape Fridays family-friendly, we offer complimentary childcare during the game - just let us know your needs in the additional information field when booking.
Safety
We use a safe word in all our games so you can signal if anything becomes too intense. Rope jump is entirely voluntary, and only part of the group needs to do it. The jump is supervised by lieutenant Toni Hinkka, who has overseen tens of thousands of rope jumps during his military officer service.
Accessibility
We are the kind of escape room where no one has to just watch from the sidelines. We provide audio-described clues and guidance between spaces upon request. Materials are available in Braille or large print. Our facilities are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair users can also participate in the rope jump from the balcony.
Game Creators
All PakoMielle games are our original creations - you won’t find them anywhere else. The technical design, route planning, and effects are the work of Toni, who draws on his knowledge of urban combat tactics and human psychology. Heidi writes the stories, drawing from her experience as a live-action role-playing game master, fantasy author, and board game designer, while also managing both customers and actors. We're both avid fans of crime fiction.
